EVENING PROGRAMME 2024 Thursday 14 March 2024 7.00pm The Rijksmuseum: Rembrandt's Night Watch and much more. Sophie Oosterwijk is a lecturer at the universities of St Andrews, Leicester and Manchesetr, the V&A and the National Trust. Thursday 11 April 2024 at 7.00pm From Rome to Kent: The Baroque Style in English Furniture Janusz Karczewski-Slowikowski is a writer and a lecture, antique dealer and researcher in Engish Furniture. Thursday 9 May 2024 at 7.00pm Artemisia Gentileschi: Daughter of Rome, painter of Europe Chantel Brotherton-Ratcliffe trained as a paintings conservator and freelance at the National Gallery and Wallace Collection. Thursday 13 June 2024 at 7.00pm The healing power of plants Timothy Walker is a college lecturer and tutor in Botany and plant conservation. Thursday 12th September 2024 at 7.00pm The Mayan civilisation of Central America Duncan Pring is a lecturer, author and Archeologist. Thursday 10th October 2024 at 7.00pm Courtly life in Mantua; hunchbacks, dwarves and giants Daniel Evans is an educationalist guide and lecturer. Thursday 14th November 2024 at 7.00pm The Artists of Monmarte-The Pilgrims of Babylon Douglas Skeggs is a lecturer, TV presenter and writer. From 6.15pm wine or soft drinks are available before the lecture begins at 7pm. We also offer an excellent selection of 'nearly new' art books for purchase at very reasonable prices. The Society reserves the right to cancel or change a lecture at short notice.

We welcome new members, and non members can also attend as guests for a one-off lecture price of £8.00
